Don't know if this is super cheap but I just saw Coleman gallons of white gas on sale at my local(southern Calif) ACE Hardware store for the sum of $8.99USD. This seems to be a good price from my recollection. I think the cheapest I have seen in the past year(I wasn't looking hard) was at Walmart for something around $11. This price appears to be their regular price, ie no "Sale" posters etc. I assume the price is good for at least a month or two. It is currently January 2014. I assume other members of this store chain also have it at this price. Jim Henderson
Howdy, Big Jim, Our local Ace sells CF for $12-$13 per gallon, and has for many years!! I think a trip down the mountain is in order, and well..... we just "might" have to visit that Ace in RC. On what street is it located, if I may ask?? Thanks for the tip, and looking forward to seeing you in May!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Mark
$22? Ouch! I complained when the price at Walmart went from $10 to $13 recently. Going to have to check my local Ace Hardware and see if they have CF and what they charge.
what i'd really like to know is: if ethanol is such a good idea as an additive to auto fuel, why is it US$15/gallon in the hardware store? willie on the meths-burning Gulf of Mexico
a place called Fleet Farm here in Minnesota sold it for the $8 something price last spring.i got 5 gallons and set it aside as i have a few older cans to use up first. i also got 5 gallons of kero made for heaters that i'll use in my stoves at the same time but i don't recall the price.it was a fuel buying trip before i went on a canoe trip,i also got two 4 packs of propane bottles......and a can of Canada jam...
The local Walmart is now selling Coleman fuel at 12.97 per gallon. At those prices, (In my own humble opinion) it's back to burning wood to cook with whenever possible camping, etc. (of course, the "glampers" have no problems, no matter the prices...) Propane just jumped up by about 45% in ONE price increase locally! From .60 cents per pound to 1.05 per pound at the only true "small business" source locally. :-( The only solace I have is that I'm not too feeble to make my own firewood yet. OH! and I've just gotten and started using my very FIRST chainsaw! A McCullach "Eager Beaver"... Hey, you have to start somewhere. Even with a worn out chain, it works. ;-)
OK, this is NZ dollars which is roughly 84 USc=1NZ$ http://www.fco.co.nz/online-store/p...-Fuel-1L.aspx?pid=294141&menuFrom=20306#Cross $15.99 per litre There is cheaper around I can buy at about 3/4 that price if I buy a 20 litre tub without the brandname.
CF is $7.88 per Gal in Houston. Supply and demand I guess. I believe local Walmart managers can raise or lower prices in response to demand on some products.
Hello doc, the specific store I bought Coleman in was the Diamond Bar store just off the 60 fwy on Diamond Bar ave. I am assuming other ACE stores also have it at this price. Jim Henderson
Wow, the price on propane seems high. You might chek out your local U Haul dealer. It surprised me but my local dealer sells propane for $3.98/gallon which is roughly $0.60 or so per pound. Most other propane dealers are selling around $5/g in bulk tanks, like BBQ tanks etc. Jim Henderson
If you have an Academy Sports near by, you can pick up a gallon of Crown Fuel (another brand of white gas) for $7.99 (taxes not included).
Hey, Jim, Tried to find the Ace you mentioned, yesterday, but it was not where the iPhone mapping app said it should be! With traffic being what it was, when we were there, we decided to give up on it, and try again next time we get down the mountain and in that area. I checked out local Ace, again, and WOW, they have now raised the price on CF to $14.99 per gallon!! If it comes to it, I'll pay that price, but as long as there are better bargains to be had, I'll drive to find them. If you buy 4-5 gallons at a time, it's worth the effort!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
The Diamond Bar store is off the 60 freeway. The Diamond Bar Blvd exit is just before(Assuming westbound) the interchange of the 60 and 57, right after you come down the hill. It is south on Diamond Bar about 2 blocks in the shopping center with the K Mart and 76 station, on the right side of street. I'll see if I can pickup a few cans when I get a chance. I drive past it twice a day. I am starting to get "fat" on Coleman cans even though maybe "you can never have enough", ie I don't think I need more, so if I get some I'll bring them to CASG8. Jim Henderson
Howdy, Jim, Ahhhh..... comes the dawn! We took the exit, but our mapping app showed the Ace store to be right on the corner, which it wasn't. We didn't have time to look further, unfortunately. I'll see if I can get over that way soon, but if not, I'd gladly reimburse you for a couple of gallons of CF, if convenient for your to buy for me. In fact, if it works out that way, I'd happily buy four gallons from you! Let me know if you want to work it out that way, otherwise, I'll be in LA for an eye exam later this month, and can try to drop by that Ace at that time to score the 4 gallons. Thanks for the extra info on store location, Jim. Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Mark
If you turn into the driveway just after the 76 station and head into the back corner of the shopping center, you will see the ACE. It is between a Autoparts store(Autozone?) and a couple small shops and an Indian grocery on the left of the corner. Kmart is on the far north, right side of the shopping center, behind McDonalds. I will check sometime this week for fuel. Jim Henderson
I just noticed the local Walmart jacked the price of CF from 9.99 to 13.99/gal. Someone else noticed it before me and had peeled the new sticker back off the old one; yes indeed, a 40% increase in the price overnight. The Feds keep saying that inflation is at an all time low. I understand that they don't include food and fuel costs in the inflation figures -- as if gasoline and food are not significant expences for most folks.
Coleman fuel in Quebec/Ontario Canada =>$19.95/3.78L (1 US gal.) and higher! Which is why I'll try kero in my 'suitcase' or go with Century Propane Adaptor. Also why I'm very into alcohol (fondue fuel). And to make things even tougher there are fire restrictions and restrictions on moving wood from place-to-place due to "bug" infestations. Definitely good time to be a "Stovie".
