Well, I have a Primus No.5 that my dad got given about 30-35 years ago, and he has never used it! After a new pump leather and some fuel, it fired up fine and burns beatifully (at least I think it does, haha)
Anyway, I am unsure of the date. I think it is from between 1963 and 1966 because it does not bear a date stamp underneath, but it does have AB Bahco stamped on the side. The Arabian script is on the side of the tank, not the top. I will get some pictures up soon, of it in situ and lit to help ya'll

    Cheers in advance!

Hmm, seems I cannot edit the first post in the thread. Oh well!

Here's the number 5, still requiring a lot of polishing and cleaning, and I will brush down the pan stand (maybe even electrolysise it) to get rid of the rust and then I'll paint that in high heat matt black paint.

    Hi, Calum,
I have a Primus #5, and it is a nice performer. Mine has 6 digit number engraved on the burner riser tube. Because it is ending in "60," I figure it is made in 1960. Maybe you could find the digits there, just below the sprit cup. Mine does not have any marking at the bottom of the fuel tank either.
