How do you find the titanium performs next to the commercial aluminium ones?
I don’t think it will get as hot because of the thermal conductivity is lower but is it as comfortable to hold?
    Regards

I recently made one out of one side of an army dress uniform belt buckle. It was the perfect thickness for a spreader.

Side by side comparing the aluminum original 99 grabber the Ti version is a lot more stable. The aluminum one bends pretty easy and is kind of loose. Has play is a better way of putting it. I made the Ti fingers longer and bent them wider. It can pour a full pot very easily and has no wobble or play.
Now as comfort goes it is thin so digs into the fingers more.
But I have an idea to fix that by bending a curl into the handle edges so there’s a flat 1/8” ledge instead of the thin edge of the handle on your fingers. But I didn’t notice any discomfort holding and moving the 99 pot around. I haven’t tried it on a regular potbut I made it specific for the flat square pot of the 99 or 199.

Good idea. I have a few old brass lantern founts I can cut up to use for spreaders but also have brass and Ti in the same or close diameter as the original. But I have not noticed anything bad so far with the thinner titanium. I guess it’s high gear abilities keeps it from damaging but time will tell.

@AngryDaddyBird thanks for the assessment of the pot grabber. I was fearful that it would dig into your fingers but as long as you don't try to hold very heavy pots for a long time it's good.
    regards

@AngryDaddyBird Are MSP still in business?

I have tried to purchase some stoves on the website, but all are out of stock and have they been so for months.
