Clipper. Very reliable. Cheap. Refillable. Replaceable flint. The ones I have say "RAW" on them.
I have used these for a few years now.
I have Bic lighters that have fuel but the flint or the wheel broke.

Ferrule rod, gas match and a Bic

I love the rod unless I get the striker around the wrong way. Then I look like a dork

My MSR Whisperlite or Coleman 533 are used when Ural camping. Depends on who's with me, but one or the other is always in the trunk.

Optimus 00 stays on my Raleigh.

Trangia 28T stayed with the Honda CX500 for awhile, until the Ural showed up.

The Honda might see a hundred miles a year anymore, so the 28T is usually sitting in a random bicycle seat bag.

@snwcmpr Lighters arrived! One has taken wood stove duty, so far it's been just as reliable as a Bic. I like the hexagonal (maybe octagonal, didn't count) striker wheels.

I had 8, gave some away, gonna order more.
The other day we were in Asheville having ice cream. A young child was celebrating a birthday. "Does anyone have a lighter for the candles?"
I was embarrassed. I have one in my pocket now.

Don't be embarrassed. They didn't have a lighter either, and they were the ones who brought the candles!

    Lol..... :)
But, as a stovie, and a primitive fire fan, I was embarrassed in my own forgetfulness.

Zero doubt that you could have made fire, if it was really needed.

I was embarrassed when Sunni and I were visiting her sister, and the only coffee making apparatus available was her sister's ailing Keurig. There we were, 3+ hours from home, and there I was, no stove, no coffee maker, not even a pour over. I don't remember what we did, but we did get coffee.

E.B. - what stove is that?! Very interesting!

There is still a drive-in functioning in Eden. Saw an Alabama broadcasted concert last fall there. Wasn't bad, would have been nicer had the folks a few spaces from us kept their traps shut and booze on low key. Yeah, I remember my first beer...

Hello all! First real post here. I have always had a stove if some kind around where we might need it most. We do moderate glamping, and use a big double burner (camp chef?) when with a group, or a double burner Road trip LX if just the two of us. I have a well endowed get home bag that has been pared down over the years as my driving for work has decreased, but I still have one that will see me home safe warm and fed for up to two days. But I always have sustainance foods requiring no heat or anything, never really thought of comfort. Gave my daughter my last gasoline Coleman a few years ago. Lately, I've been thinking I ought to have a non propane solution for whatever might come up.

Today I scored a very little used Coleman 425E, paid a bit more than I ever had before, but less than half of what folks are selling them for on eBay and Craigslist.

It is almost too pretty to use! Not sure how to age it, but the tank is pre-safety "filler inaccessible while mounted" and also in perfect shape. It still holds pressure, is dryer that a mummified bone, no fuel smell at all, and the discoloration of any piece is so very minimal. I'm pleased. Not sure yet where this will go while not camping, probably on the deck (well sheltered).

In answer to the original question, two days ago I picked up a 533 almost new in the box. 35 bucks from an elderly couple that just stopped RVing.

I'm pleased with that score as well!
