Hello happy collectors ! go, go, go !!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5209334019&fromMakeTrack=true
I want it so bad it's hurting, but 'evil' is bidding on it and I wouldn't wnat to hike the price up for him. Besides, I expect it will eventually go for a high price to a Japanese bidder. Jim Ford
I plan on winning it but there is a limit to how high I will go. I will bid it up probably at least 20 dollars higher than what I am willing to pay just because I want to get on last dig in. I already have one in the same condition and I absolutely love it. It is the best of the coil burners even exceeding my Borde bomb. Rob(evil)
Rob, I am glad to hear you say that you think highly of the TayKit. I too, am impressed by it's capabilities. The pot stand makes for a nice 'bit o' kit'. For just boiling water it is easy to use. The only problem I have found is that cracks can develope in the tank but, a bit of solder and they are good to go. You can also fit an Optimus 80 inside the pot stand to act as a wind break and a pot stand that is more stable than the original tin. This one seems to be NIB and will fetch a higher price the I would be willing to pay. Chuck
I see Taykits around here fairly often (2-3 times a Summer) They usually don't command a very big price as most folks haven't a clue what they are. I'll keep my eyes open and if I find one (or more) I'll pick 'em up and see who wants one. I bought mine for less than $5.00 a few summers ago at the local swap meet. It's obviously used, but works great. I much prefer my Svea 123/Sigg tourist, though. Gerry
Great, count me in on one - it doesn't have to be in fancy condition as I'll want to use it! Jim Ford
Go on Jim, Snipe 'im! Imagine it sitting on your table; all sparkling and a-twinkling - dripping with gleaming newness.
I don't really know if I can get it but if I can get it at a fair price I will. One of the things that I do with them when I use them is to ensure that it is used in moderation. I don't use it to melt lead. I have found that if you use them in cooler weather or under less stressful conditions they don't seem to get the stress fractures. Rob
Jim, No cheap skates here. I just have another one in my sites that Tom is selling. It is in better condition plus it will help me to maximize the return on his sale. Nothing better than helping a fellow stovie out. You should see the baby Enders that I received today in the mail. Brand new military surplus. Never been unwrapped and includes a small fuel can. I am buzzing with excitement. I also just picked up another NOS Optimus 99 and an older 8R. You didn't by chance see that Tilley 155 NOS that I recently took possession of? Rob
Evil; please, never ever, never tell of your good fortune on an open post like this, it makes the rest of us jelious as all 'ell just kidding lad, good fortune to you, and so what if i'm jelious. My tough luck if goodwife has put me on a budget. lance
