Meet @Remus1956 last Sunday and he gifted me an Enders 9061 made in 1959. He left with a few items he has been looking for, so all is fair. Dug into the Enders the next day and found no fuel was getting to jet. Cleaning needle was rusted in place which is another story. Tried the easy methods first, acetone soak, evapo rust soak and even a hot vinegar bath. Got out the torch this morning and did a few heat & quench cycles and with the help of a vice was able to get to the rusted wick. Turns out the tube was basically a semi solid mass of rust with no trace of a wire. Pictures will show what went on I do believe. Where there is a will there's a way. Daryl SoCal
@Daryl Good to see that done. I’ve not needed to on my Enders and though not baulking at dismantling one … … ducked out of removing the tube, anticipating it would require heat, determination and nerves of steel. Well done Daryl that you measured up. John
Thanks guys, both of you have what it takes to get the job done when needed also. @presscall used your thread twice for this one.
@Daryl WOW... And here I thought it would just need a pip and spring for the NRV... Had no idea... Seriously though ..I gave him the stove because I saw one he had in another picture that was an enders and figured he could use the spare parts... Had no idea that man was going to make the spare parts stove actually work... It was in decent shape and all but I never tried to light it... I'm impressed sir
@snwcmpr read your thread and many other I could find here. Really owe a big thank you to those who went before me. Three days of soaking did no good and had no choice but to try this. Maybe I got lucky with this one and hopefully you will too. Hopping it will fire up so I can put it to work cooking a couple waffles!
Officially a kooker! Love to use stoves in pairs and now I can. New to me Enders is on the right. Really hard to find a more sturdy and low stove than these. Wife will pop two of those in the toaster tomorrow.
@Daryl I can see by the state of the cotton wick you were getting no fuel to the jet, well done there Daryl on a brilliant fettle
