Good'n mate! Like I said, it's the best of the whole MSR line AND of the new primus stoves, The Varifuel and omnifuel any way. Unless they made the omni a veriable temp stove finaly. The only stove of that kinda make that even come close are the Novas, and Brunton came out w/ a similar one, multi fueled as well. That wld be the only fall back of the Dragonfly, coleman only. but? Who gives a ? It's a rockin lil stove w/ realist operateing and cleaning. Mighty fine score mate!

Primus no question... on the merits of the pump alone. (Simple, mostly metal, and flip stop action) Plus you can use butane if necessary.
Qburt Don't go all off half cocked. Theres the Nova and one or two other multis that do the job too. The Nova can be put into a trangia windscreen for a clyclone proof stove. Kap Stove Thou I haven't got one yet. If someone feels generous please send one onto me for evaluation. The DF so far.. 8hrs use no dramas using kero which is not grade a1 stuff either. With the kero jet and the shacker jet installed its gone good so far. Even wit flippy stoppy the fule line will have some fuel in it and althou it don't dribble out the fitler it is there to contaminate you cooking kit. White gas would evaporite easier. Depends if you are lugging the stove or going by bike car etc. SOmething like a 111 kero is hard to beat and keeps plodding. Lots of white gas stoves out there!!!! But here I prefer kero as I can get it anywhere. Barra

Yeah Red I seen the thread. Do they simmer with kero or how low does it go on it?? Or just one tune on the heavy stuff?? I could do with the butane adptor and the gas control for a start. (nother project) Gotten cheaper last time I looked. Thanks for the reminder Barra
good to know about DFs and kero. Thought it was a coleman fuel only jobby. Guess it has some similarities w/ the M1950s in that regard, inadvertant multi fuel, 'cept the M1950s are mono temp jobbies.
Hi Barra Simmers as well as a 111. This is simmer on gas, but does just as well on paraffin. One issue with these stoves is you need to be really patient with the preheat with paraffin.
Well did something besides burning water and playing today!! This is my simmer/lowest I can go!! bit raggy but it don't soot the pot. Any lower and it s just yellow. With 350 ml kero in the 500 ml bottle 12 pumps simmer for an hr then 2 more pumps. This happened . Basic rolled roast (rolled belly flap. ) Don't know how much fuel I used but a lot less than I expected Could've been the windscreen ,,just large enough to sit the camp oven into...keeping the heat in. Well it goes!! anyway. Maybe a bit more space around the windscreen and it will cool just a tad.Just a nice temp. Anyway do me for a fold up blowtorch.. Nice deepish hollow sound when low. I can hear and know how its going while I lay back and have a nanny..mean nano nap before tea. How low a simmer should I get using kero?? It seems lower than a 111 or 2 pint roarer. About right???
