just curious to know what your ideal stoves would be or feature in terms of spec. It might help if you think about your ideal stove in terms of an existing or historic make and model and then also your ideal fantasy stove....is there a model you wish your favourite manufacturer would have made.....or what would your ideal fantasy stove have feature wise...what would its specification be...

I think it will be very interesting to read your replies....go for it !!!

    regards to all,
    jon

I fantasize that Optimus would make the 8r and 111T the way they did 40 years ago. And sell them for the same price!!! :D

For a compact, lightweight stove I'd probably choose a 123R or a 8R, with a BD minicap. (The one I actually use these days is the 8R.)

If size and weight are less important, probably the 111. And for heavier weight - the 21. (I guess I like them all...)

My fantasy stove is a valveless Primus 70 riser and burner atop a plain, bottom filling Radius 42 tank.

My wish would be a ... 111T, in either a Titanium or Marine grade aluminium alloy. [-o<

I would go with a Sam on an all titanium 123R if that is really possible. Me like my 111T and P41 in brass though the casing would be preferred in titanium :D

The more practical fantasy stove would be an unfired Primus 41 silent.

    1. 75% made of titanium
    2. kero, gas, coleman, meths, diesel, tequila, moonshine
    3. under 1lb in weight
    4. one piece construction (nothing to connect, just open it up and fire it much like the 8R or 199)
    5. piezo electric ignition feature
    6. built in wind screen
    7. convertible from silent to roarer (I think the Korean made stove like BernieDawgs)
    8. Self cleaning jet

Did I miss out on anything at this point?

It would be small enough to fit in my pocket, stable enough to hold a 10 fry pan or 6 qt sauce pan, burn anything that resembles liquid fuel, have the capasity of fuel for a week, selfcontained with all the bits and pieces threaded together in a fashion they can't be lost, not weigh more than 3# fully fueled, be expensive enough to make me believe it's quality yet cheap enough i can afford it.

    Hummm, i think it's a US Military burner of the likes of a M-520, M1942, M-1950.

In my mind, I see a chrome-plated Optimus 3 with quad burners. It would have a primer tray like a 510, but much larger of course. Maybe they could see it from outer space?

OK, my synapses are firing now: an 8R 17-4 PH stainless steel precipitation hardening case (think oversized driver club in your golf bag; tank, pot support and burner made from 416 heat resisting stainless (think exhaust system on your auto), key made from 440C hardened martensitic stainless. Peizo-electric ignition, Laser engraved case, and a roarer burner that swallows any hydrocarbon and makes 32 liters of strong coffee per tank of fuel. :D/

A really light 111t, with Ann-Margaret as a spokes model for the stove. We are dreaming here after all.

Personally,I like all the different types of stoves. My dream stove always seems to be one I don't have yet. As soon as I aquire it, my dream stoves becomes another one. But if we are talking about something that doesn't exist, I'd love to have a Radius 21 or Optimus 00 with a conventional silent burner.
