This website is great. Full of possibilities. The Webmaster(s) do a good job, I think.

What do you think about a Poll to see, finaly, what kind of Mad-with-Stoves we are ?

    Be honest ...

I've got around 30 by now. Stoves are like age in that they slowly creep up on you.

I must have about 30 too. I'll have to get them all together and count them sometime.

I think after you hit the 30 stove mark, you go into denial, I mean, 4 Primus No5's is only equal to 1 Primus No5 really, same as the fixed leg Monitors and Valor, they don't really coulnt, just there for spares, I can only use one Trangia 25 or 27, but if my lad camps with me I have to give him some space and independance, so I need to take more than one on a trip, and of course have a spare at home.....just in case. My wife cannot see my logic, just a mound of stoves, but I only have around 30 (plus the back up and spares models),,,,,,,,,,,honest

    Greetings, Stove Mates,

OK, I guess I'm going to "open up" the stats a little! ;) Though I have not counted them in years, and though I've given some away, and sold a few others, I would imagine that I still have around 300 stoves!!!!!! Maybe a few more, maybe a few less. But, last time I did count them, there were over 250, and I've added quite a few since then. Someday, I'll have to go through every single box, and count every single stove. Though it won't make any difference to me, it might be fun to know, exactly, how many of these great things I still have!!

I believe that Fr. Laurence, from "Down Under", has a similar amount of stoves, if I recall correctly. The rest of you guys are "Pikers"!! Come on... go buy some stoves!!!

    Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark

P.S. Rik, you have to count the total number of stoves, including any duplicates. Each one is special, and an "individual" unto itself, so each one should be counted. At least that's what I do....

Well, Doc Mark, not as many as you, but a quick look at the card index shows 255 stoves. If we were to include wickies and metho burners and blowlamps then we might add another 25.
Next month is the famous Cessnock Swapmeet, leave home at 6am to drive about 65km, arrive and hope to get parking closer than one km away, ice still on the stalls at 7am, no open fires even allowed this year, but I expect to come away with a few more stoves and some Meccano/Erecror sets too.

According to the database on my Palm m500:
    32 Stoves - 12 White gas, 6 Kero, 1 Multi Fuel (Kero/Gasoline), 5 Canister, 4 Alcohol, 3 Canned Heat (Sterno), 1 Esbit
    7 Lanterns - mostly Propane Micros with a Coleman 200 and a Tilley X264B
5 Heaters - Pocket size Aladdin Jon-E to Tilley R55 and Valor 525.

Sort of like Gerry's Motto; If it burns things, I want one. (close but no cigar, I know!)

Teasing Iain, you have a fine collection and i suspect you have a time trying to figure out which to take on a camping trip.

    Watch out Doc,

Evil has at least 60. I am always on a spree, albeit no where near 300.

    Rob

All of mine are white gas or kero.

And I am working hard to make it less. Or at least change some of my duplicates for ones I haven't got.

Sorry Lance the single Stovette never came in a case. But I do have a double Stovette in a case. You could cook twice as quick.
Or I have a double that I could take off one burner. No I had better not do that.
