I see This are two others groups official reports, made for the championship. this stove was used in both trips http://foto.mail.ru/mail/gve-82/goryn_George/ My leader is a bit lazy, so there is no official reports, only photo. I'll make photo gallery on a free site but it takes time.
Hey Grigoriy Like your frankenstoves 8) Like the 8R? burner in the mug 8) That one that looks like a dead octopuss looks a real bottler!!!(ripper) (great) Cheers Barra
Hallo Grigori, do you know something about this stove: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/ Thanks Markus
hello barrabruce, thank you. yes it was a russian clone of 8r, turist. the mag is just a wind screen brass tank is changed on pumped bottle, burner head( do I use a right word? ) is not modified. it boils 1L in 4.5 minutes in 11cm diameter cup. weight 450 g It was made just for fun with the decisions previously used Goryn( dead octopus ) I cant get the meaning of the word bottler Its weight is 1900g, 3 shmels without cans 3900, with cans 4800 It boils 5L of water in 9.5 min. first 2 minutes only 2 heads are working, the third is preheatening it self. There are ripper, as far as I guess, is a kind of the butcher? Thats not quite correct word, then you deal with automobile gasoline, you have to clean shmel-4 approximately every 50-100 hours. Primus mfs every 10 hours. Full cleaning of shmel-4 takes 1 hour. It's an ordinary not pleasant thing. For me shmel family(excluding Everest), and Turist are not collecting items, they are ordinary. I'll never modifie Record-1 or Everest only repair.
Hallo Russenjesus I havent see it my self, only by words of older friend. I am looking for it now As i have already sad it is rare, expensive, sensitive to fuel quality and difficult to preheat, but it must have excellent efficiency. 1) expensive, Shmel-4 about 3 rubles Record-1 6 rubles Everest 36 rubles 2) rare, I know 3 Record-1 devices of different years from 1946 up to 1987 but no Everest at all, only some stories, that it was, and was bad. There is nothing in runet about it and so on. 3) efficiency. In usual constructions, silent or rora, cup is heated only with convective gas transport, and not in the best way, flame cones are in contact with the bottom of the cup, and its not the best way to transfer heat. Everest is flameless or infrared stove. Cell plays two roles first, due to intensive heat transfer in solid, it stopes the flame cones near it surface. Flame cones are small and do not contact with cup, and its good. The second role of the cell is infrared heat transfer. Cell contacts with flame and has high tewperature==radiate heat. Cell is flat and big cup bottom is flat radiative transfer is good. But for the bad fuel cell is a problem. There should be good control of pressure, to work good. now there is MSR REACTOR based on the same principle, its very complex but effective. manual pdf
Grigoriy A "Bottler" is Australia slang for something worth keeping. Agood idea that is worth the effort... Good enough to be worth bottling..like a good wine beer or whatever. "Ripper" means its: excellent pearla ripsnorter(even better a real goer) beauty ... Great an all that Cheers Barra
Alex & Grigoriy - welcome to the forum. Good to have members from Russia with knowledge of the stoves produced there.
barrabruce, sorry for misunderstanding sorry my level of english dosn't allow me to get slang Several new photos of shmel family, shmel1 head and racks in good quality, all tanks .... http://foto.mail.ru/mail/gve-82/shmel/ there is a mistake in Shmel4 price it was 12.5 rubles New album, record-1photos http://foto.mail.ru/mail/gve-82/Record-1 So there is a question, what models are clones? and what are uniq ones?
Ooooh .. that Record-1 looks the business, very nice indeed. Did you do the cleaning on the stove ? Very well done. Trevor, you have some serious stove polishing competition here ..
Yes, I did. But the problem is that I cant fix it, this brass is very delicate. I think it will be so bright only for several days
this was made in 1987, but as far as I know records were common since 1950 or may be earlier. They were used mostly in the villages, citizens for backpacking prefered shmel family. There? as you can see, there are 7 legends 2 on a head MADE IN USSR and in cross RAZNO, what is "razno", dont know, may be name of the town, if so it is a small town. 1 on hexahedron "3"- just three, possible it is number of solderer, for quality control 4 on a tank "Record-1", then price "u 6 p."==price 6 rubles, next year 1987, and the last abbreviation, it sounds like "Z.Sh.V" its a factory name abbreviation Z-means works, factory, mill; plant Sh.V- I dont know, may be plant specilazation, geographical position usualy the first letter befor Z.
