Bought 5 gallons of Jet A today for $3.30 a gallon. I have been adding a teaspoon of Amyl Acetate every time I refill font in my Perfection heater. It produces a sweet banana like smell that I'd very pleasant. I like this much better than using Hoppes#9 bore cleaner. Noticed my flame spreader where it contacts the top of the wick even stays cleaner with less carbon buildup. If you are interested in Amyl Acetate just ask and I will let you know where I get a liter for 25 bucks shipping included shipped to my door.

Kerosene was $5 when I dropped by Walmart today, so I picked up a couple of gallons.

That's not a bad deal. I have never burned the Crown kerosene before. The Crown camping fuel I really like it for the price and it seems to burn the same as Coleman brand fuel.

I didn't post it as a recommendation, but as a difference in price from the post above mine.

Cool. I look forward to hearing about what you find out. I am glad I found a source of JetA because my only other alternatives for clear kerosene was to buy a 55 gallon drum from my local Chevron distributor which was pretty expensive. Or buy from the place that sells it bulk. I just hope that I never have to burn that red dyed kerosene. - Josh

Wally World this morning. Note the NEW style Coleman can. New Coleman stock, not an old can. I had the guy check the price and he verified it is new stock.

I neglected to verify that the price showed.

Same prices for crown and Coleman at my local wallyworld. I can't tell any difference between the Crown or Coleman fuel so I stick with the Crown camping fuel. Crown fuel is handy stuff for wiping down surfaces and cheaper than the fast evaporating solvent I get from the auto body supply store.

Been using the Crown $7.64 since Coleman fuel is at $13.00 gallon in my neck of the woods.
Your Wally World has not gone to the dark side yet..

If you're heading west from Battle, kerosene is currently 69p a litre via pump at the garage between Amberstone and Horsebridge on the north side of Hailsham.

Crown white gas is currently approaching Coleman prices at $13.00/gal+ at Squalor Mart here in Los Angeles county, CA. Kerosene was $8/gal, but sold out.

Ref my comment the other day, drove past the garage north of Hailsham this morning and Kerosene on pump was 57.9p a litre. Price will be the same at their other garages at Horam, Clayhill and Selmeston.

I've just found a place which sells methylated spririts in decent sized containers, and at a far lower price per litre than I've found anywhere else. Trade mark is 'Barrettine':

    Wm Eyre & Sons
    Brough Cornmill
    Brough
    Bradwell
    Hope Valley
    Derbyshire
    S33 9NG

    Tel: 01433 620 353
    Email: info@williameyre.co.uk

Price was £12.10 for 5 litres.
