Hi Jim. I was responding more to Ian S's question of what is used, instead of what is ideal to use. So I'm going off topic I guess, sorry. Re my local student population: it's a case of needs must. And since when have students cared about proper food preparation anyhow? I'd punt that much of the Asian population has/is happily sacrificed/sacrificing heat output when leaving the fire pit behind as well.
