    I know this thread is old but I found a Hawthorne Camp Kitchen in my grandmas basement today.

    Here's a more recent picture (a week or two ago). Finally got it back out of the attic.....

    If you look at the box for the stand, there is a shipping label. Apparently, it was delivered to Evanston, ILL on July 29, 1950.

    Do the burners use modern LP bottles or is this made for 6oz unobtainable canisters? Coleman Prepo K Fuel etc

    Unknown on the type of canister. Never used it myself. My mother used it as a child.

    Earlier in the thread someone mentioned it looked like a "Patrol Box". Well, here are plans for a genuine Boy Scout Patrol Box, courtesy of a 1956 BSA "Jamboneering" reprint booklet. Apparently Scouts made a lot of their own stuff "back in the day".
