Hi all. I've been getting back into camping/hiking after a hiatus and I have been disappointed by both my old Trangia solo-set and a butane "briefcase" stove I'd borrowed off my folks. Remembering that multifuel stoves were desirable when I'd last looked at the situation, I had a look at what was available on e-bay (which I gather has unfavourable reputation here). Thankfully I also found this forum (and also this sit: http://zenstoves.net/Petrol.htm) before I bought a Sigg Firejet. I have been lucky enough to find an Optimus 8r (lightly used and with original box) at a price I can live with and I'm looking forward to test-firing it soon. Pics to follow.
Welcome Smiffy to CCS. It is great to once more get the camping and stove bug. Trangia, 8R - great stoves, but as you browse through the CCS site you will see a multitude of other stoves to whet your appetite. What ever you have or do, take photos and post them - we all LOVE photos!! If you have any questions or problems, please post them and you will get lots of useful advice. Once more, welcome to CCS.
