How Cold of Weather Can I Run My Gas Stove In?

    Yes, that's why I'm a proponent of the canister stove with water idea. It's safe both ways. If your stove's canister is getting too hot, the water will absorb some of that heat. More importantly in cold weather, it will stabilize your canister's temperature and prevent the canister chilling that would normally occur, chilling that would disable your stove.

    If you're in such cold weather that you're having trouble keeping the water liquid, it's time to switch to liquid feed gas or liquid fuel. That's my take anyway.

    Hopefully you have a windshield to double as a splash guard.
