@Marko57 Thanks for that info/image Mark! The stove has now been delivered to the more capable @Tony Press for further attention! Hopefully we'll see an update...
First update on the Hunt’s Pioneer stove. The trivet does say “Sydney” @Rodger Willows. I removed as much loose rust as I could from the cast iron trive using a Dremel wire wheel, being careful not to damage the fabric of the trivet. I then treated it with Ranax which is a proprietary rust treatment; then boiled the Ranax coating off and painted the trivet with a very high temperature pot belly stove ‘charcoal’ paint. Then baked the trivet in an oven at its highest temperature. I didn’t do any repairs to the thin rusted parts of the trivet as I wanted to keep it as is. I’ll use another trivet for the stove when it’s burning. Before treatment Cheers Tony
@Tony Press Wonderful preservation. The wording is much more apparent in relief now. Thank you for the update! Rodger
Testing this stove with a smaller jet on the Svea 815 burner got rid of the stove’s tendency to run rich. I’m not sure if the reason it runs rich with a 0.32 jet is a problem with the seating of the inner and outer caps on the rather wonky silent burner or not (I’ll do some more experimenting with the stove), but the smaller jet fixes the problem. Cheers Tony
