I just love this thing. It is so quiet I cannot believe it. On simmer I can barely hear it. Dramatic difference with it!

I made a video on YouTube about it.

Can't believe it? What were you expecting for your 100+ dollars? That's what they do! Silent burner technology has been around for over 100 years quietly doing it's thing.

    Enjoy! ;)

Silent damper caps are brilliant aren't they?!
What a great idea someone came up with - to apply 100 year old technology to modern backpacking stoves! The genius of it boggles the mind! :p

I would prefer advertisements here be a little more subtle than that.

Sure, brilliant. And a good idea. No doubt. Not sure I would call it genius though but I suppose you can ring your own bell if you want to.

When I said I cannot believe it - I didn't mean that literally.

I wish I could afford one. At this price it's a clear case of the tail wagging the dog! I suppose they make a fortune selling them at this price, when it's actually mass production casting.

Our Mate Bernie was producing the same techology much time ago with remarkable lower prices.

Can anyone make comparison between the two?

Well said Ken. When I saw the topic I could feel a rant coming on but decided it wasn't worth the effort.

    Greetings, Mates,

Needless to say, I agree with what's been said here. S3's comment seemed like little more than a very thinly veiled advertisement.

The Dawg rules, Primus rules, simple, sweet, and a fact! I'll always take friendship and generosity, over mass marketing. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,

    Subtle, shutter, very subtle.

I guess we'll be seeing a variation of those ...

    "I NY"

... stickers cropping up on CCS next, only it'll read,

    "I my QuietStove cap"

Well, I product assessment that's non-partisan, such as Dave Colter's establishing that a Quietstove cap wouldn't simmer on his Radius 42

QuietStove cap won't simmer on Dave's Radius 42

I will venture to guess that an IP address check on the posts for QuietStove & Shutter3 are coming from the same place, regardless of the user name.

I think this whole thread should be deleted for not meeting normal accepted policy here.

If not the same place, it's his friend, relative, etc.
Awhile back I figured out how to make a simple product (stove related) and was selling it on ebay. Not once did I mention it here. It was nothing that required the skill that Gary has or the resources that Craig has found to manufacture cast products, but I don't see this as the place for shameless marketing.
Gary never indulged himself the way our Quietstove fellow has. His self promotion was always in the name of helping others.
I agree with Ken. Anything so blatant should be removed.
    Oh,
I just LOVE anything I might be selling on ebay at the time myself!

Ive been a suporter of free enterprise on this subject for a long time but this time have to agree that somethings fishy.
This isnt the first time a recently registered user with very low post count has sung the praises of this cap. We could be wrong but it seems like veiled advertising
Add to that the fact that every post from this poster relates to quiet stove.
Might be time to give up the pretence of quietstove being a regular poster and turn him into an advertiser in the same way as other site sponsers. I have nothing against him or his product but he is here for the sole purpose of selling his caps

    Hi Presscall,

You are referring to Model 123 and there is work in progress to refine it. Shutter3's post is about Model 311 which simmers perfectly with all fuels supported by the stove.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    I ♥ cheese.

If it looks like fromage, smells like fromage and tastes like fromage, its probably...... well you know.

    Morning, Nick,

YOU, Sir, are truly a gem amongst men!! Your photo made me burst out laughing, and I will be placing a order for 500 of your "slightly quieter cap", along with a few of those pipes, and some of the stealth tobacco. Since I don't smoke, and never did, I figure your new pipe and 'baccy combo is right up my alley!! ;) :content: :D/  Thanks for being you, Nick, and I look forward to sharing a camp with you and some of our other Mates, one of these days!!  Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc
