Wow I'm impressed with the speed of the shipping it might be in US customs for a bit they will have to open it since the xray won't see much. Waiting for the good news and pics

 

@CW you're right, they are currently held in customs for clearance.

 

UPS is showing them in Koeln, Germany.
I'll be surprised if they meet the Thursday delivery.

@CW, agreed. I did think they were in US customs though until I saw they were in Germany.

 

Most carriers forward "paper" work electronically, and begin customs clearance, long before the actual physical package is anywhere close to the target country.

I'm guessing it's because the paper work can take longer to process than that actual shipping?

I like the look of those red Trangia sets. I don't think I'd buy one though: my Trangias are used for hiking and being knocked around in a pack tends to get things a bit battered.

We've used our red Trangia kit for many years, and it still looks pretty good. Only a small amount of care in packing has kept it that way, too. FYI. The one drawback, is using the red kettle on any other stove. It can be a tad slippery, and might slide off the stove! This kit works best, when used together, of course! Take care, and God Bless!

I've had $20,000 orders held up by customs for months. Absolutely zero caring on their part.

We use DHL because they're very fast, and have a streamlined system for importing. Order parts from Germany on Friday, have them in our hands Monday. This is more important than cost for us. The local drivers tend to be clueless and uncaring, though.

UPS importing has gotten better, and their speed of shipment is reasonable, but still the worst for customs issues.

FedEx is a joke, on all levels. Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid. Terrible importing system, and then getting from the port to your house may take five weeks and involve multiple trips across the country and back. Ask me how I know.

USPS is relatively reliable, but slow. My preference, for personal shipments.
