hi everyone, recently i came across an old Primus, W14 stamped on the bottom, which dates it to 1932 of i’m correct. Probably wasnt used for decades, since the leather pumpcup crumbled immediately and i didnt smell any fuel whatsoever. Replaced the pumpcup and the seal on the fuelcap, filled the tank with some fuel, preheated the burners and away she went. Really amazing after all these years, impressive. I found no leakage or anything, so I’m wondering if i should leave it as it is or is it better to take the burners and nozzles off to clean them?
Interesting that all six burners have similar amounts of yellowing in the flames. Not something I would expect if there was a problem with one or two of the jets. But, if I'm not mistaken, it should have some tubular flame rings which would increase the thermal feedback into the burner heads and improve the burn. Regards, John
