IS THIS RIGHT ??

    Hello to you all :)

    Just cruising through E bay, and came across this item....

    Its sold as a "five piece aluminium cookset", Now to me, this looks like an Optimus 88 alcohol stove..If you look at the pic' does it seem to you that the base section holding the burner is upside down ? :-k

    yep, upside down. I have one of that very set. It was a good bargain and I enjoy using it from time to time.

    Absolutely upside down, and I think someone mentioned it before also. Must be the same picture that is on the package.

    Just replace the burner for a Trangia item that has a simmer ring that actually works and you have a rockin' rollin' unit! I like my 77a which this closely resembles a great deal, even over the Trangia 25.
