When I put a little pressure on the valve stem the flame either increases or decrease significantly. Any suggestions before I start pulling it apart? I am hoping it is just a simple I ring replacement.

Have not noticed on mine. Don't do it then. :) Might be time to replace O-ring.

    Here's what you'll find.

Fact is, a worn O-ring leaks fuel and that's not the symptom you describe. It doesn't affect the stove's controllability.

I wonder if you're describing a worsening of controllability in a stove you've used a lot or if the Firefly's new to you and you're describing the less-than-Dragonfly standard of responsiveness to the control?

The Firefly can be set to simmer but it only takes a small amount of adjustment of the control spindle before it's up to maximum.
