    Good day group,

On my sailing boat i use a kerosene stove with prismus burners.
I am getting ready for a pacific crossing and i would like to buy some kerosene.
The kerosen for sale on the hardware store here in Panama is really yellow.
Is the airplane jet a1 a good alternative?
    Any precaution ??
I Will be at sea for several weeks
    Just to make sure....
    Thank you
    Roberto

JetA1 is very good quality kerosene. Use it in preference to Jet A.

    Cheers

In Jet A1 is there any additives to protect the engine or to keep if flowing/clear in cold temperatures on high altitudes? If there is they maybe are not so good to inhale when burned on stove.

Pure kerosene should be without any additives...

Jet A1 is, at least in Australia, the purest kerosene available. Jet A has more additives; and the stuff you buy in shops is Jet A1 with additives to turn it blue...

I use only JetA1 in all my stoves and lamps (even when I'm sailing!).

Jet A1 can include some parts of anti ice, and/or anti corrosive additives, but not as much as in JP-8.

I thought that the Jet A1 had the additives, not the other way around.

I don't trust Wiki anymore than any other word of mouth from public sources, but, as you said, look at Wiki...

    @snwcmpr

I have recently been talking to fuel suppliers here in Tasmania. Two things I found out (which confirmed my previous understanding):

    1. The hero seen sold through the bowser here in Tasmania is Jet A1.

    2. Jet A is not used in Australia.

    Cheers

    Tony

That means you do have the de-icing additive included in the fuel. I have read some say not to use it with the additive. I personally cannot say one way or the other, except what I read elsewhere.

De icing additive isn't mandatory in Jet A1.
It is due to liners fuel systems.
