I was just watching a U-tube video about a $40.00 "camping" wood burning camp stove, and I had a brainstorm. (yes, it happens occasionally) this stove was basically a charcoal briquette lighter! If anyone has never seen one here is a link: http://www.aquasuperstore.com/products/Camp-Chef-Charcoal-Lighter-Basket~11413.html so instead of making one or buying an expensive "camp stove" maybe this could do the job! I am going to go to my local hardware store and see how much they are and how they will lend themselves to some mods for pot stands etc...
I've got one, to use with dutch ovens, but it never occured to me to use as a stove ! I think you'll want to cover up some of the draft holes, so you don't melt the fry pan (They get super hot!)
