Right, I blame you lot for this. I pick up an old wartime era Juwel petrol stove to go with my reenactment gear, and before I know it, i've got three of the buggers - and it's hardly like I need *another* hobby that involves collecting old stuff. One of the Juwel's is in perfect condition, the others, well, they're getting a nut and bolt rebuild (made considerably easier by access at work to vast quantities of cleaning solvents, and some ultrasonic baths) I know that the wartime era Jewel's were painted in RAL6006 colour paint, but does anyone have the colour code for the post war ones that seemed to be painted in a hammered-effect silver paint? Also, wicks. One of the post-war stoves has a wick that looks a bit too scorched for my liking. Will the 123 wicks fit in the Juwel, or to I have to bodge something together myself? Cheers, Jay. PS - If you buy a stove off of eBay.de, best to make sure they aren't going to ship it over to you when its still full of fuel
Not sure what paints are available there, but wicks? Find yourself a cotton mop and clip a few strands... And here's how to do it http:// Kudos to our own Ian marston ! Take a bow, Ian =D> PS: The 8R wick (and a lot more ) and the various 123's and Juwel 34 etc are the same.
Be sure and light up a piece first some off them not cotton they have rayon or nylon. When it burns you can see its melting. If its cotton when you blow it out it smoke.
