Yes, you are correct. That is a typical modern generator for cave explorers. Usually carried in your belt, but a pocket work too when you need some warmth. They use carbide lamps with a flexible hose up to the lamp/burner.
I have just seen several of them throug all my years of collecting carbide lamps. But a quick search gave this a bit down on this page. You can see the hose attached to the outlet stud: And also this:
Finally got myself the No7 army stove box, 2 of them in their cardboard boxes. A bit rust but not much, 1978, so now I just need to put a stove in them!
Re: Post 38.. James Dumbar, Albion Road, Edinburgh. A lemonade factory. A great idea to have a tap at the bottom so the lemonade does not go flat if it was carbonated.
This needs a second picture in flame shots. I think the only way to do a close up would be with a zoom lens.
tests target: find good enough coffe make process - burner p71 with pecolator - too strong juwell 34 - with pressure coffemaker - too strong simply meths burner - pot position too high - 22 min short legs with windshield - 8 min - success!
