Lilor N°66 gasoline stove

Received a while ago and just took it out of its shipping box.
Here is the beast:



The level gauge is faulty, so disassembly to see what is blocking.
And surprise, no mechanical connection, it's magnetic!
In fact the needle is magnetized and tank side on the axis, a U that I assume in soft iron. The whole being driven by 2 cogwheels and a cork float (long live the Bordeaux corks!)

After unblocking the primary jet, firing:




Heating test, 1/2L of water brought to a boil in 6 minutes, Slow motion flame position

 

@Michel thanks for sharing, that manometer is a beauty!

I still don’t like and understand this style of finish for the cast, but probably was the fashion of a certain period

Ahhh...another enameled stove from France. Nice to see it up and running like it should. Very nice indeed.

Speckled enamel was quite common on Australian pressure stoves and lamps (eg Aladdin stoves).

The Australian copy of the Tilley EX100, the Kayen AP2, had green speckled hoods, and blue speckled hoods (various shades over the years). Aladdin kitchen 2-burner stoves were black and white speckled, and I’ve got a rare big, heavy stove that was green and white speckled.
