Hi Jn, Lovely work! Thank you for showing us some of your carving. It is great that this tradition is being kept alive in Norway. I love your bone carving of the face.
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Hi Junior, you'll soon be a master yourself!
It looks like you make your own bows & arrows?

    Best regards,

    Wim

Thanks for the kind comments! :)

Wim: Yes, I do make my own bows and arrows! Beeing a viking re-enacter I have to be able to make my own weapons, and the bow is a really easy weapon to make compared to the sword and the axe.
I do some blacksmith work, but not axes and swords, mostly small things like thor's hammers and other viking pendants.

The longbow pictured in my gallery is made from ash, as it is a fairly common tree here in Norway. Have also made a longbow with walnut tree and ash, makes a good combination! 8)

Whoa, you do blacksmithing too? So do I. I am not much into armaments but I did make this one-piece throwing axe from an old car spring.

Sparky: You see, I'm kind of a renaissance person, doing a lot of handcrafts. I love to learn new crafts, especially the old crafts that the vikings did :content: They were really good goldsmiths for example!

Looks like a nice throwing axe! 8)
Car springs make wonderful tools! I have a couple of chisels made out of car springs, and they stay sharp for a long time.
