Interesting. We have used K1 Water White Kerosene in ours for very long trips, and with some priming paste under the generator the 550B runs like a top. However, we clean our generator after every long trip, and if needed, replace it. I'm not keen on burning unleaded pump gas in my backpacking stoves. Too many nasty additives. Though you may have escaped problems, the vast majority of those who burn auto gas in their camp stoves, have far too many problems to make that attractive. And, with the scarcity of some generators these days, I would only burn auto gas, if there was no other option. Just my 'tuppence.... Take care, and God Bless!

Hey Doc,
Can you get us up to speed on your generator cleaning procedure(s)? I'm a heat, quench, flush. lather, rinse, repeat guy. I'm also a "steal great ideas from others and spread the word" guy. Haha!
