Hi Bill, no worries mate! But I think there is some confusion re these punches; I had the one for making the washers that fit the risers for "96" type stoves, this was send to Alan (salan3) who then passed it on (I believe) to Gordon. The one I am waiting for is the punch for NRV washers. Once it has passed through my hands it goes to Alan (s3)and as far as I know, he's the last one on the list. So, if you need this punch as well, you're our new "last on the list" I'spose All the best, Wim
hi Wim i didn't want anyone thinking i was trying to barge my way to the top of the list i'm in no hurry for either just thought i'd shout before the 96 riser one heads to foreign shores that's all as it might save on the postage i'm in no need as of now but a few spares wouldn't go amiss atb Bill
Bill, I can't see any one there that hasn't already had it. So, it might as well go to you. If any body else pipes up then you can forward it on. Just send me your address. If you get the NRV punch keep me in mind, I'd love to have that for a while. Goedon.
When it looks like the punches have completed their Grand European Tour and crave visiting the U.S. please keep me in mind. There is no rush on my part as my sheet lead is buried very deeply in a storage facility right now. Thank you much! Bob
hi Gordon got it safe and sound bashed a few out and found a few stuck inside the tool, so after punching the lead i gave the tool a punch on an off cut of leather and each one just fell out of the tool after the punch with the leather , no idea why it stuck but it worked perfectly using the leather afterwards CT awesome job mate i really appreciate the time you took in making this tool and also for sharing it with us mate i have finished with it now so am all ready to send it to the next person in line i'll include the piece of leather with it so the next person can do the same as i did as for the lead washers. i redid a 96 that i had that really needed it as it had two old washers fitted so needed tightening really hard to seal, with the new one that i made it just needed tightening a bit the first time to get the washer to bite into the threads as the washer was a perfect drop in/out fit, now i just need to pinch it tight instead of using to much force 8)
I know this keeps croppping up, but where is this cutter that CT made? I'm in need of it, if it's in the UK, please keep me in mind.
Not sure what cutting tool you are asking about but have you read this thread by Kerophile for making a cutting bit to cut nrv's? Trepanning nrv pips
HF, no, that's not the cutter I had in mind. CT has made a double cutter,(wad punch), for making the lead washer for the NRV complete. If it's as good as the 96 washer cutter I'm looking forward to using it. It's doing the rounds somewhere, and I'm in the queue of wanting. If someone would like to send it to me, PT me for my address, thanks.
This cutting tool seems to have disappeared from this world. It would be of great help if the people who "subscribed" for this cutter to be send to them could (PLEASE) tell us what happened to it. I was supposed to be N°3 (I think) on the list, still waiting! Regards, Wim
I've merged the threads. I was second on the list for the nrv washer punch but I haven't had it yet - Is it with Lanevitt still? Last word is that the burner lead washer punch was with Parra but maybe on it's way to Skeeves?
Ross, I received the 96 burner punch from Lanvet, and then sent it on to Bill, (Parra). Several months ago, I should think.
Cool - it's the nrv washer punch I was next in line for. I haven't added my name to the list for the burner washer punch but add me in!
I've the "Lead burnergasket for the 96'ers" anyone looking for that one. as far as I knew I was the last on that list but this thread had has me confused.
not me i've had the burner one and sent it on but no idea where the nrv one is, but i'd like to get my hands on it sometime
