    Hi Folks

I recently acquired this little Meta cup stove complete with fuel sticks. It took just under ten minutes to boil one cup of water using two halves of a fuel stick in an indoor sheltered location.

    The stove in packed condition.

The fuel tabs sit easily in between the burner base and the lid.

The burner tray will hold two halves of a fuel tab.

    The original fuel sticks.

Instructions on the rear of the package.

A full pack of more modern fuel tablets.

Instructions on the reverse of the packet.

I would appreciate if anyone could give a rough fat for this little stove please. The stampings seem quite different from others in the reference gallery and also the catalogues in the reference library.

    Regards, Jeremy

You’ll perhaps have seen my Meta products catalogue in the Stove Ref. Library Jeremy? (reproduced in full in that post)

Commenting on my post Christina (@night_owl) placed the date range of the catalogue as 1928-1931 and the Meta 75 it was bundled with is likely to be of similar vintage.

I see your Meta pot has the same pattern of fibre knob to the lid and is stamped with a DRGM registration number, which meant that the Swiss product had been approved for use in Germany, a mark in use there between 1891 and 1945. I conclude your Meta dates to around 1930.

One of your fuel packets is contemporary to the stove, the other is a 1970’s product - easy to guess which from the 70’s fondness for red/orange!

@presscall John, thanks for the dating evidence. I hadn’t picked up on the fibre knob or the DRGM reference. I had looked at your catalogue, not much of a detective am I?
