I'm looking for replacement pips for the stem of some pump caps, not the pips inside the top of the cap. If anyone has some extras I'm willing to purchase 6 of them. I tried some 5mm nitrile cord but it was too big. If they are not just the right size they tend to jam up in the tube. If anyone can help me out or even has a small piece of the proper diameter cord they could send me please email foresterscott01 at yahoo.com
Hi, FS01, Welcome to CCS! I'm a bit confused about what you actually need. Which stove are we discussing, here? In the fuel caps of some stoves, there is a regular gasket, and also a safety plug, which relieves over pressure if the stove gets dangerous. Other stoves just have a cap gasket, and nothing else. Please let us know which stove(s) you are meaning, and maybe it would be easier to help you. Thanks, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
The pips in these do not have a brass shoe . The simple way to fix them is to use a leather punch on some nitrile rubber and then slice a little off the old pip and glue the new bit on. In fact it can work with out glue just by friction. YD
Yes, I was not aware of another one. The tank cap has an elongated brass tube containing the "NRV". This tube contains a spring and a small rubber pip of slightly less diameter than the one in the pressure relief mechanism.
