I bought a nice little Turm 144 on ebay and was surprised how good the flame is hotter and bigger than my 138 maybe to do with the tube being on top and better gravity feed ..I replaced the wick with monel marine wire and stove rope..the stuff used to seal wood stove doors unraveled into strands wrapped each end to a similar thickness as original wick ..I was not happy with the green tank it was rusted bad inside where the Enamel had eroded ..so I bought a tea caddy ..its an ANTIQUE J.SANKEY BRASS TEA CADDY size 4 stamped on base ..a size 8 caddy is way bigger I found and not suitable..there are a few on ebay still I think..the good thing about the caddy is it has a wide fill hole to fit a brass M8 nut and socket long reach down into to do it up after drilling a hole obviously..I offset the hole so I can now fit a large pan on the stove no issues..with the green tank I could not fit a large pan ..you can remove the lid when in use to allow flow ..I did not want to put a hole in the lid because I don't want my fuel to evaporate..it may work with lid on I'll try ..oh yes and cleaned and lapped the fuel valve so it sealed blowing into other end to check it had a good seal I did not want puddles of fuel everywhere .

You could braze the nut onto the bottom of the tank to get the last bit of fuel and make it brake down for travel..

I also considered useing a fancy hip flask as a tank you could not loose the lid with some of them a pewter one maybe but I liked the brass tea caddy
