Hi John here are a couple of pics There is a more of a yellow flame at one side of the burner, i have cleaned the vaporizer tube thoroughly and pricked the jet orifice, the jet looks like to me it slightly enlarged but not central i think a little more fettling to the vaporizer tube will do the trick
@mr optimus Yes, running rich Brian. Send it me if you like and I’ll do a hypodermic needle insert repair. I’m not a fan of peening, having seen some examples I’ve had to rectify, one where the original oversized jet orifice became two. The metal’s quite thin, can work-harden under the hammer taps and fracture. No charge. PM me.
Nice one John much appreciated, i personally think your right there copper and brass do become work harden and get brittle, i remember that from metal work at school, i have seen your technique and was well impressed many thanks john
Hi stovies , here are a couple of pics of the lipstick burner after Presscall, repaired it using his brilliant hypodermic insert, i am amazed with the work and results and could not more grateful to him for his help. This system for repairing lipstick burners is brilliant, i don't think there is a better solution for this type of repair
@mr optimus I’m grateful to you Brian for featuring the outcome. Satisfying to see. Some pics of the repair in progress. Hypodermic needle insert silbrazed in place. Excess trimmed off, vapouriser polished. Clearance fit for a 0.23mm pricker. John
