The original, the red with blue letters and two military ones. Any ideas on where to look? I’ve used eBay, Craigslist and Facebook market.
Doc, sorry it’s been so long since I replied. Question for you! Would you be willing to send me your pictures of your bottles so I can see what I might be missing?
Howdy, @Waylon Spencer , Unfortunately, we're in a huge rush right now, getting ready for long series of work jobs. I don't have time to do the digging necessary to find all the different MSR bottles I have. Lots of bottles, and stuffed into too many places down in the Hobbit Hole. The best thing you can do, is post some photos here, of all the MSR bottles you have, and that way, we stand a better chance of helping you find the ones you don't have. I very much look forward to seeing your collection, and am fairly sure that, once you post all the ones you have, we can help you fill in the blanks. Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Okay I’ll drop a pic guys. What I would love is someone who has the ones I’m missing to offer me a chance to buy or trade. eBay is just too frustrating.
I have one not pictured but took me a while to find it on E bay-came with a stove. Will take a picture.
I have maybe 20 MSR fuel bottles but people want them cheap and wont part with something I may never get again.
Hi folks, Admittedly this is slightly off the MSR topic but the picture and mention of the REI fuel cap above prompted me to post a shot of mine showing a minor modification that has worked well for me for many years. A thin wall brass tube with a short section of the next size up tube to serve as a barb is inserted into the outlet after drilling it out for a tight push fit. A short section of silicone tubing (the type used for model aircraft engines) is attached to that. Unlike vinyl tubing, the silicone remains flexible even in the coldest weather making it less likely to spill fuel. I use the small pinch light in the photo to monitor the filling so I don’t spill fuel in the tent. The marks added on the cap are there as a visual check to make sure the cap is fully closed. For some time after I got the cap I would remove it and replace it with the stock cap when packing up. After years without any issues, I have just been leaving the cap on all the time but I double check to make sure it is closed properly every time I pack up. Yeah, just another one of those heretical things I do. Larry
Hello, I also collect bottles, but there are too many to include the small differences and I can't see the goal. Do you collect only 22oz? thank you.
Luckily I was able to snag 2 original 80s bottles. There’s only 2 more I think I need. It’s the other military black and the other military tan.
And MSR titanium bottle? Recently I saw a bottle msr titanium, mint, at a web 2nd hand market as usd190 approx. in Korea.
The MSR titanium bottles are manufactured in pretty nice quality. I have a Evernew 800 ml and a MSR 800 ml. The MSR is a little bit heavier (100 g Evernew vs. 108 g MSR), but with nicer quality at the thread. How much does the 600 ml MSR titanium bottle (on the very right) weight without the cap?
