One day I'll find one of these. They're rare even in Canada. More can be found closer to the mountains.

Hey ya'all. New member but super excited to say I found my original MSR stove. The white pump with original square knob. Alas at some point the metal bushing that attaches the burner to the pump is missing. That said, I added the pump to a sigg bottle and it still had pump pressure. I apparently didn't use mine enough as a teenager at the time or just got lucky that it didn't crack as many said the original did.

The parts I still have are the cup, the windscreen. I don't have the two base heat deflectors (the steel nor the aluminum)

The burner is still working. But the ignitor is frozen so it doesn't self-ignite.

Very cool to find and looking forward to maybe using it out on the river. Didn't get that much chance as a kid but now that I'm retired and playing outdoors hope to make up for lost time.

Welcome to the MSR #9 owners club! Yours is a great stove, and as long as you stick with Coleman Fuel, or most any other Naptha based fuel, it should run like a champ for a very long time!! Do NOT use the white pump!! It is highly collectable, and, as you know, is very prone to cracking! Cracks and Coleman Fuel do NOT get along, even in the least!! Do yourself a favor, and buy a brand new MSR pump, and call it good! Most of us have done that, and our stoves work like gang-busters, and are very safe to use. Retire your original white pump, and just be glad you have it! Again, welcome to CCS, and God Bless!

That white pump appears to be a 2nd or 3rd generation.

Is there one or two pins on the end of the pump where the down tube is located?
Does the square fuel knob contain the MSR logo or is it blank with a notch filed on one side?
