My first Optimus stove. 111 and it's a gem.

    Wandering off topic here but this subject has been touched upon various times before over the years, for example here, and it seems that the real answer isn't known but it does look suspiciously like silent burners actually kick out slightly more power...

    You may well be right but the authoritative roar of a the roarer burner certainly does give the illusion of greater heat!

    I find the 111B gets a bad rap. I have never had a problem in 20+ years of using mine.
    No fireballs no drama.
    I just make sure that the tank cap seal and the little rubber pips both in the pump NRV and tank cap are nice and soft. It’s actually a very safe and reliable stove with simple maintenance.
