    It occurred to me days later that I'd forgotten to take 'The Amazing Blowlamp-Tanked Stove Thing' as I'd planned - that definitely would have brought them flocking from far and wide. :D

    Regarding the bowlfire, this was one I bought for a few quid to provide spare parts. I'd already sent the preheater to another member - hence the 'strategic flare-up' to get it burning, which it did with no fettling whatsoever beyond scraping a bit of carbon from the pricker wire. I hadn't planned to ever run it and never thought I would, but it was just so flipping cold... :doh:
