Is that when the British forced the Muslim Indians to make their Primus pump cups out of pig skin? I had never heard that the Indians were against leather, and it seems that they are not. The fact strikes me as wholly unremarkable.
Last night I decided to use the stove for a friday fish fry. It was quite windy so I had to cobble a temporary windscreen using my gas BBQ and a sheet of aluminum. Fired up nicely and was able to enjoy my meal. An old Coleman 327 lantern helped to light up the process. I will have to make some new leather pump cups as the provided ones will not fit even after a 24hr soak in oil...seems they are quite a bit larger in diameter...or is there a trick to get them to fit?
Although quite satisfied with this stove I am having a hard time convincing the vendor that the supplied leather cup spares are NOT correct. As previously reported, the leathers are very hard and even a 48 hr soak in oil does not help. The vendor claims they are correct, as smaller leathers won't pump correctly. I beg to differ. Does anyone have a solution to those I have on hand...?
