What are you thoughts on brazing the sheared head back on the NRV and using it again with a lead washer?

I vote for: Not good idea. If you have drilled through the NRV and used extractor to remove NRV the surface that faces to pip might be/is damaged.

Get whole new NRV and save useful parts from the old NRV as a spares for future projects. When/if you get new NRV('s) make sure that thread is compatible. Some currently made NRV's are having mounting thread that is not working with old stoves. (nominal thread size is same, but thread has been made to be poor quality thread so there is fitting/compatibility problems)

I've only tried one of the after market NRV's but I had an expert use a few and he mentioned no issue. I was unable to install one, or at least feel the threads were not cross threaded. He may also have been able to hand thread them since the pump tube was removed, then resoldered. I grab every original one I can find, whether used or new.

There has been a lot of discussion of the NRVs available for sale now. If one is able to clean up, deburr, and chamfer, the thread and thread lead, the NRVs available for purchase will work fine. But, if the threads are not cleaned up, it is very easy to cross thread while inserting. An eye lope may be necessary to see the burrs on the threads.
Last week I used 2, sent to me by a friend, to replace NRVs in a 111T and a Radius 17. With clean threads they went in like they are supposed to. I ordered 10 from the same seller as he did.
