Obviously a good idea to adapt the large burner of the Optimus 111 into a form that would permit the use of very large pots. Especially useful when cooking for a group of soldiers and you want to put a 'Dixie' pot on it. There's more space between the tank and where the pot would be so there's less heat reflection onto the tank.
It looks far better than a Army No2 cooker. Just the job for camping with the family or in a caravan.

Here it is. It will never be as good looking or as clean again.

It was taken part way through the fettling process, before I got the spares for the burner.
I will have to replace the pot supports at some point.

Smell that bacon grill! That's my 111T heating the pan of tomato.

Roughing it in the urban wasteland, lovely stuff!! Nice shade of green, too, but I cant help but think it would look better with some boiled over stew stains, carbonised onion bits, a baked on 1cm length of ramen noodle and a couple of bonded for life coffee stains 8) You sure thats bacon??? Looks like spam to me.....

I also have a roarer 111 of unknown vintage, a great stove as long as you dont have to carry it very far.

Is the case of your stove silver grey or pale metallic blue? Possibly with embossed model name and trademark?
The tank cap looks like a sixties item. Someone else will be able to say with more accuracy when Optimus changed to the 'hex' tank cap from the 'slot' type that yours has.
Another well used example if the case is anything to go by.
I liked the image of the stove at work. Was it a time exposure? There isn't any definition to the flames and you have captured the glow of the flame deflector and pan supports well.
I have a good one of my first 111 on a CD ROM somewhere. T'is just a matter of finding the swine...

Yo, Mr Wenker; How's my old blue roarer 111 doing? Just equiring after an old friend , and it's within the remit of this thread.
How about another thread: Stoves we have known and loved...

    Hello,
Thought I would pipe in on this one:
    I am nornally a 123 fanatic but...............
I have an 11, three of 111B in good shape, a fourth 111b is for my spouse's son who likes camping any style like me, (by car, boat, or foot) but I'm still working on that stove. Have one or two of 111T and a 111C. Have a 22B I got cheap with a badly dented tank, and I have just found the tank & burners from BC Canada on ebay as you may have noticed (I'm the twerp what dunnit) yesterday after a 3 year watch to fix the 22B. long wait it was. I am nearly in 7th heaven now, but just need a few more stoves.

Have been enjoying some of the great discussions on the forum, and do enjoy the great humor here that sometimes pops up in between the serious stuff.

    Regards All,
    Doug
