As far as I know that chain was a standard feature of Swedish military 111-type stoves.
It's a good idea I think - and re-use them on the 111's I refurbish and give a second lease of life...

The tank lid have a circumferental recess on the pressure relief valve nut that accepts that larger
last link of the chain, so the tank lids need to be saved when killing off military 111's for spares...
The chain itself is the same as the one keeping the regulator handle and can be either off of the
slaughtered military, or any other, 111...

I am happy to say my only 111 was obtained thru ccs. Posted on this site by Slowburn as free to good home, to be refurbed & looked after & it has. The case is embossed , Optimus globe roundel ,centre of lid, optimus no111 bottom right. The tank top filler/srv is slotted, mark 1 I believe, the flame adjuster key has a white plastic knob, the windshield is slotted to slide over the flame adjuster boss. The burner/flame spreader incorporates the filler tube for the spirit cup. A small filler funnel was included with the correct spanner but no jet pricker. I made a slight mod to the case, by fitting 4 bun feet, made from mirror screw chrome caps, protecting the base from scratches. I apologise for the lack of pics, hope the description helps , untill I learn how to include images. I am happy to be a 111 owner. Best Rgards Optimust.

:lol:Thank you for the reply Tony. Feedback from posts is a spur on to the next fettle. The pics were messy, better next time. The feet, hopefully will help save the base from scrathes. My Best regards Tony, Optimust.

Ha ha, now I see why it took me so long to find a 111. It's like money, 1% have 99% of the money. Same with 111's!

Oh my, I must be the only one that doesn’t have a 111, but I have a Primus 41, an Optimus 8, and a Russian clone 8r. Somewhat similar to the variants of the 111. They are all users, the 41 and the Russian clone live in the car, the Optimus 8 is at the moment on the shelf.
    Never seen so many 111s.

    Cheers

I'm in the same boat. I have an Optimus/Primus? 8r and a Russian clone. On the 111 hunt now. I'm in Yakima Washington right now and just found out flea market has been gone for over a year :(

I too like the addition of the feet. I have 2 111's and counting.

Got another 111 kero last month. Same time period as the one I already have, one of the first models.

    Keep on with the survey

    Cheers

Just bought my first "Primus 111B". This make 8 for me, the other 7 are Optimus's.

Still on the search for an embossed kero one as thats the easiest fuel to get over here I have a good 22 kero and a little 8r but the 111 is the most useful one powerful bit reasonably compact

I have 2: a white gas/unleaded 111B and a very clean 111 kerosene. Along with my Enders 9061D they are the cream of my small collection.

I have 2. A 111T triple fuel which I just posted pictures and another which is a 111B gasoline version. I also have an old No.11 kerosene but don’t think that qualifies?

mine one is strictly dedicated to a steak skillet, it's the only one stove that heat it uniformly . it's a 111 kero roarer.
