For those searching for that elusive good quality 111T for your collection, our friend Finn in Norway has some very good condition ex-army 111Ts at reasonable prices. Just got mine and fired it up - very happy.

    Hi Optimist
My new old 111 kero from Finn arrived earlier in the week.
Great burner. Now I know why there is so much praise for this stove.
The Grandkids will be using it when I'm long gone.
Must check out the ex army 111T's.

Earlier today, I was at Chicago O'Hare airport, upset that my flight was delayed, and decided to check email. While waiting for my email to synch I figured I'd check eBay for stoves. What do you know, someoneone had an unused, new in box, with all the spare parts and the little red funnel, 111T with a Buy It Now price of $100. I snatched it up in a heartbeat. That makes it my 4th 111T and my 7th 111-series stove now. I had to promise the wife a moratorium on stove purchases for awhile. As Doc Mark likes to say, the good deals are out there (even on eBay) you just have to be patient.

I just saw that a lightly used 111T just went for $232.50 + S&H on eBay. I'm feeling very happy right now. :D

    Hey, Rich,

You OUGHT to be feeling pretty happy, that's for sure!! You got a fine score on that 111T!! "If you look.... you WILL find, PERIOD"!! I always find it humorous when some of my good friends say, "Well, I looked and I didn't find anything". I always say, "Did you look every month, every week, every day"? To which they ALWAYS say, "Well, no." Then, I have to tell them, quite honestly, "Then, you didn't 'look', at all"!!!! ;) 8) :D The more you actually get out and LOOK, the more absolutely wonderful things you will find, and for fantastic prices, as you have so strongly proved with your outstanding buy on that 111T!! Way to go!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Doc is very right. I've noticed some patterns. Many people watch Ebay. They lose an auction and bid the next one through the roof. Other people list the same item , thinking they will get rich. Then the high rollers get theirs and sometimes bargains can be found. If you follow all the items of one type for a few months , And catch the bidders names. You can see a pattern. And just about figure when you can grab a bargain. Also people list a wierd title for an item , and/or place it in a wrong catagory. And its hard to find. Keep track of it until the last 2 minutes. Another good chance to pick it up cheap. Good Luck.

Bid often, bid low, the law of averages says you will get what you want in the end and at a price you want to pay :D
