Optimus 8R, offset burner

Just bought on 8R of Ebay, looks like an unreal stove, came with the mini pump as well. I wasn't that keen to buy international off ebay but wanted an 8R and that seemed like the only place to get one. Pretty happy though, only took a week to get from the USA to Ausrtalia, i've had stuff take longer from local ebay sales.

Only thing is that the burner is not centered in the middle of the pot supports. Is this normal? I don't think it will be an issue but just thought i'd check. Cheers

The feed pipe from the tank to the burner may be a little bent, have you tried tweeking it?

Looking from the side it's leaning back towards the lid hinge, Just needs the feed tube tweeking a bit.

 

Looks to me that the hinged front has not dropped down completely. If it were flat the burner would be a bit more forward.

 

Yes, I definitely agree, the hinge should go down flat against a level surface that's why the burner is off center. May be something obstructing it.

Be careful if you tweak the fuel tube - it may fracture if bent.
Try spannering it further into the tank a turn or two.
I have two 8R's. Both have slightly differing positions.
No probs with either.

 

It looks new. Has it ever been lit?

 

Thanks fellas for the feedback. The fuel tube is not bent and i don't think i will be able to screw the burner in any further into the tank. i was thinking that i might put something under the burner to both raise the burner and protect the case. What do you guys think.

Yeah, it does look good but it cost more than i had hoped. I had missed out on a few 8R's and this one was in real good condition and came with a mini pump so i thought it was worth a bit more.
