Well I received a parcel from Optimus Canada on Friday. Paid postage, a box to put it in and a very nice gift for the inconvenience. I will mail it out today.

Received mine a few weeks ago. I can't tell if they did anything to it. There were some extra O-rings and instructions as stated above. I'll take a closer look and see if there are any leakages or problems still. I did manage to test the connector to the pump. The O-ring looks like it held together without any shredding. This was after I had connected, twisted, disconnected twenty or so times...

    Sounds good Sam

I hope this recall makes Optimus redesign the nova and make it silent.

That's be a super redesign, Jeff, as long as they can manage to drill all the burner cap holes straight!

Hope you get a nice stove back. About to try mine.

Got my Nova back on Friday (March 11th) Looks good.

They gave me a different pump back. The one I gave them had a Sefa leather in it and most of the green paint was gone from the pump knob. :rage: ](*,) :rage: I should have removed it.

At least they gave me a free Optimus Titanium fork and spoon. Not bad I guess but rather have the leather pump cup back.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Hey, Jeff,

Sounds good. Too bad about Brother Sefa's leather, though! If you need one, I would be happy to send a proper Sefa leather your way. Just PT me your mailing address and full name, and I can pop it into the Post tomorrow. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Well, I wonder what version it is that I have.

    Made in Sweden. That's good.

The coupler says "CEJN" on it which I assume means that it is a CEJN coupler.

    She certainly runs well.

    HJ,

you either have version 1 or 2, but in any case one with the old housing and proven CEJN coupling.
The difference between version 1 and 2 is the bottom screw, check it for 5 or 6 mm. The 6 mm version is the best.

Does anyone know if any of the 82's were made in China?

Even though I have an 85 I've come across an old fuel line to build a KAP burner and would like to use one style of pump across the two systems. Not sure if I'd keep the 85 as a fall back.

Thank you Doc for your kind offer. I have more pump leathers thanks to Sefa. I plan on selling this Optimus Nova. Since I have the Omnifuel and Brunton Nova.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

    Hi,
A couple of years ago, I bought an old Brunton/Nova Optimus Nova and Nova+ and did not realize to check if the stoves are part of the recall. I tried searching online how to identify which ones are recalled with reference to its serial number or production batches.
Could anyone has a copy or link that could help me identify if my Nova stoves are part of the recall?
    Thanks

    PS
The Optimus Nova has been my favorite stove among the modern ones because it performs well with kerosene which is readily available and cheap here in Manila.
