Hi. I have bought an Optimus 00, with «Patent» and «Upplands Väsby» on the tank. It came with a Radius UFO burner, which must be a later replacement. I’m puzzled by the box it came with. It is all blue, and I was convinced that it was repainted. But it looks like this can be original paint. Does anyone know, or have a similar box. It has embossed lettering «OPTIMUS MADE IN SWEDEN» on the lid, and a latch (?) to close it. I could add that it has a dimpled spirit cup, folding feet and a threaded pump knob.
Reference gallery has quite a few 00 Patent stoves: Optimus No:00 Box could be repainted or from later 00 stove.
I have scanned the gallery, but found no boxed with these embossed letters on the lid. If my box has been repainted, all details must have be removed before painting, as there is no paint at these parts at all. But it is not unlikely.
Off top of my head, my short answer: I dunno. Do look through the gallery. As you consider various examples, consider tin vs stove. Your stove has distinct tank detail it is stamped with both "Patent" and Upplands Vasby. I'll follow with interest. Thank you.
