Hi all: I have an old 415D stove that I want to repaint as it has a few rust spots on it.. I intend to use it from time to time.. Does anyone know the proper shade of green paint to use on this old stove? Is there a high heat enamel that would resist damage during use? Regards; Mike
Thanks! Wife said JD green should be close she thought.. lol..We have a napa right down the street..That is where I got the high heat silver for my 500.. Mike
Hi all: Just got my 415 painted.. Thought I would show a few pics of it.. Got the green paint from Ace Hdw.. It is John Deere Green.. Got the high heat silver from Napa.. Mike
NIce work! I really like those older coleman 2 burners. I have a much newer 425 that is partially stripped. I hope it comes out half as good as your 415 did. What is the vintage of the 415? Take care. Dan
Hi there: This thing was really a pain to get all of the old paint off of.. I got what I could off of it with paint remover that cam in a spray can from walmart.. According to the chart in this site, the 415D was produced only in 1947.. I got it from some friends who were going to throw it away after their parents died.. .. Mike
Mike (ramsay), Did you repaint the tank as well? It looks like it is at the same level of restoration as the case and burners or better. If original, then it has been remarkably preserved. The tanks I have like that look quite dingy comparatively speaking. Nice job! sam
