PLEASE help with Optimus oo stove.

Dunno about late at night, but a 00 first thing in the morning doesn't crank out too much noise - 10 feet away and it doesn't sound intrusive (to me at least).

Hi Dave, most pressure lanterns (including yours) only work "full power", they can't work properly on low pressure. Some, like my Coleman CL1 however can be regulated to give less light. I guess that's why one can buy lanterns with 150, 200, 350, 500 CP ratings; one buys the lantern that 'fits the job'! (I very much like the 500CP ones )

Hi spirit burner, sorry i missed your earlier offer mate. I will, however keep you in mind for future reference.
I have seen a couple of 500 cp lanterns but i'm not entirely sure i like the look of the german petromax with the jumbo jet pre-warmer. To me, it looks quite tinny even though it's probebly not, it just doesn't seem to float my boat in the same way as the vapalux/bialladin range.
The Optimus stoves will complement my two swedish army trangia's that i've owned for years.
These seem to be getting quite common these days with momre and more people buying them for only a few pounds. Altogether i have 5 of them. Superb bits of kit but used alongside the optimus stoves i feel they should work very, very well especially during the winter months.

mmm i sort of understand what you mean but my train of thought was, if you could adjust the flame on the paraffin stoves then why couldn't the same principle apply to lanterns. Maybe it's me thats missing something.
These are ,afterall, pretty new to me but i think i'm definately getting some sort of bug! i love em.
