The first time I have lit my Svea 106 in dim enough light to really see the flame. It's ever so slightly uneven, but it suits me. I can take no credit (or blame, should there be any) for its operation, since all I have done to it is add fuel, priming alcohol, and a lit match.

You have to love something that bills itself as "The King of Stoves."

It's burning cleanly, which is the most important thing!

As for 'The King of Stoves'... that's something of a climbdown from Svea's earlier slogan 'The Best Stove in the World'!

After a long battle with the burner and jet (and a set of borrowed No.100 legs, slightly too short, but fine when used with that kettle).

I have never been one to give names to cars, bicycles, or other possessions. But if I were, and given this stove's status as "The King," I would name it Eilert, after the great Swedish Elvis imitator Eilert Pilarm:

I like it! I'm not a namer of stoves apart from one- incidentally an early Svea- which between myself and the females who use it regularly simply became known as 'Mother Svea'...

Big difference in both sound and performance.

This is something I made by imitating the heater of the Takei Burner 201.

Bought that stove heater years ago from AliExpress, it was pretty cheap around $12cad. I think they still sell it.
