I while ago I acquired a Sigg Tourist clone complete with meths burner but no pots. Recently I received a 123R that fitted nicely. Does it look to be burning well? Any thoughts on what pots would be best to use or how to make a stable pot rest to take any pot?
A Karrimore gassy gave up its burner to silence the mighty dragonfly. It even folds up with the burner in place The flame is almost as compact as the roarer. Almost perfect Only downsides are that when priming the fuel stays in the burner instead of running into the wick which is easily solved with a bottle of meths and it goes yellow at a low simmer
Greetings, Stovies, Here is a shot of my much loved MSR #9 stove, which I took at our recent CASG7, held in Joshua Tree National Park, CA. Of all the MSR stoves from the X-GK family that I own, this one is the most powerful! I guess it should be, in truth, as it was the first in that venerable stove tribe to be offered for sale. I am VERY impressed by it's power, and easy starting, and am very, very happy to own this outstanding MSR #9!! I call it, "Duane", most of the time by the way! Great cherry-reds Ian. I notice that the flames on the 2nd photo have more yellow in them. Maybe a slightly smaller jet size for paraffin needed? But what the heck - just run it on petrol.
Hi Trevor According to the graphics on Ross's tin, they were designed to run on petrol, but according to this illustration, for the Oz market, they run on paraffin : https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/339 so presumably they were set up for both markets. Simple change of jet, would be ideal to run on both. Best Ian
