Brilliant nmp it is realy great seeing your 702 furnace at work melting lead just what it was designed for,i wonder when it was last used by a plumber to melt lead, the stove paint realy looks well on your 702 furnaace and is coping with the high tempreture
Brian Paint still hanging in there I am impressed with the stuff.Crucible has a sooty bottom but no flaking yet ! Several gentle firings seems to have cured the paint well. Nick
Hi Guys, Here are photos of the fireplace. Sorry, it is too warm here now, so no flames. First, an overview: The cabinet on the right holds the manifold and pump for hot water circulation: And an inside view shows the heat exchanger: Yonadav
Here stovies here are few pics of one of my favourite stoves it is a Shinabro Royale 400c which John very kindly sold me last year Above is the 400c on a very low simmer a realy nice cherry red colour to the flame spreader Here in the above is the 400c running at full power,i have fired this superb stove up a few times and it real roars like a jet engine, but have not taken her out yet, which is going to be the first stove i will use when attending the steam fairs i visit in the summer, i will do a more detailed thread on it when i use it next
Hi Ron i hope you do get a Shinabro they realy are superb,ok on this model it does not have a internal cleaning needle but then that no real problem,in fact not having a internal cleaning needle gives the stove more control, the only real advantage with a internal cleaning needle is easy to clean than fiddling a bout with a pricker and any debris is more likely to be pushed out of the jet where a external pricker will more likely push the debris back into the jet
Here are some more flame shots. Cheers, Norman Coleman 413 running kerosene. Coleman 502 running kerosene. Coleman 500 on kerosene. Coleman 533 on kerosene.
Hi norman a very nice selection of flame shots on your various Colemans all burning kerosene/paraffin,you have done a fantastic job of taking the flame shots they all look outstanding and very well captured i seem to struggle in getting a good flame shot with out it being blurred
Hi mr optimus, Photography is a hobby of mine and I enjoy taking pictures very much. If you have a digital or 35 mm film camera try using a tripod, because there is not movement to blur your picture. There are also mini tripods that can be used. Cheers, Norman
Hi Norman thank you very much for your advice. I think a tripod will be the answer. A normal pic will come out for me well by hand but not a flame shot where there is a movement.
Hi John, I thought you'd get a kick out of the over fueled shots on my 413. With using kerosene there is a lot more Btu's. When using Coleman fuel/white gas the shot of the secondary burner on kerosene is how the primary burners runs on white gas. John, I'm just following in your footsteps and yes I deviate a little in tying some things on different stoves and in most cases it works very well. I do wish I had some of your talents, because I need to do some brazing and I can't braze worth a flip. I can solder a circuit board, but I don't seem to be able to solder a pot stand back onto a brass fount. When soldering I can't get the heat right so I'm either to hot or not hot enough. There are people who live close to me, but they just don't want to teach an old dog like me some new tricks. And you know brazing and soldering isn't learned over night it takes years of practice and many failures and learning from those failures to get it right. Sooner of later I will find someone here that will be willing to share their wisdom and talent with me and then I can complete some of the projects I have. Well that's enough moaning and groaning. I glad you enjoyed the pictures. Hi mr optimus, You're welcome. If you don't have a tripod I'd try going to some yard/garage sales, or at least that's what we call them here in the States, because you'd be surprised what you can find and how inexpensive the items can be. I look forward to seeing your wonderful flame shots. Cheers, Norman
Hi Ian, Last time I used one of them I set my school Blazer on fire! My mum was not a happy lady. Is that why those jackets were called Blazers? Steve.
I know I already posted the pic of my Enders 9060 and 210 sport here, but... this is all 4 of them roarin away. sounded like the south end of a north bound F14 truth be told.
